Beignets and coffee, shrimp and grits

Hi all.

I haven’t disappeared. I’m just relaxing, on holiday in New Orleans. We got here at the perfect time…. This week has been a pocket of loveliness, with weather in the high 60s to mid-70s range. The crowds were minimal, until yesterday, when the parades started for Mardi Gras.

So, we’ve kind of felt like we had the place to ourselves, which has been terrific. Today, our last day here, we are going to have some relaxed breakfast, a relaxed last wandering-about, and then off to visit family.

A fairly perfect holiday week, really. I miss My kids, and wish Mr. 761 were here, but other than that, it is perfect.

Home early next week, but posting may take a few days while I take care of business.

Any ideas for ideal holiday trips? This one worked out so well, I am determined to do more of these. Its especially pleasing to be just a bit off-season, too.

Ideas and suggestions? Please add to comments section.

Heather Porter, a masage therapist in Kentville went on a amazing cooking trip to Italy…it looked and sounded like a amazing time…if you want more info I bet she would love to share with you…she is on my friends list if you want to connect with her…safe travel home . When does Vicky leave the Rehab?

  2. Hey Joan – I’m so glad you got some nice weather there! A really amazing driving trip is from Utah to Arizona…the scenery is incredible, constantly changing and will keep you entertained for days….not great if you have height issues – but I learned to just close my eyes at certain points – which works if you aren’t the one driving 🙂

    • I have to ask…. How id you come to know that a driving trip from Utah to Arizona is amazing? It sounds great, but I’m trying to think of the logistics…fly to Utah, drive to AZ and then fly home? Hm.
I love that landscape though, and now want to take that drive.
